Customer Reviews:
lineardisco (5 Stars) - have just been in to this pub once again. This is our tenth time here since the new people took over 3 years ago, what a wonderful meal yet again the place was quite busy and the staff were at ther usual polite best and the landlord and landlady came and spoke to us just like they have done before, my friends had the homemade chicken, ham and mushroom pie and said it was the best they had ever tasted anywhere, the cod and chips was so big my partner could not eat it all and i had the half roast chicken chips and veg and this too was really nice, as well as really lovely desserts, when we read a bad review I could not belive what i was reading as we have never had any problems with the food or the staff and find what was being said very hard to believe. My advice to any one is don't read such reviews as they do not give a true story about this pub. I am a retired chef and would soon make a complaint if there were any problems with the food or service and I could not find anything to complain about. So all the best to you all and keep up the good work see you all soon.

trilobite53 (4 Stars) - Visited for lunch 19th July with two others. Nice old traditional pub. Food was excellent and good value and fresh not frozen.

Lazyotter (4 Stars) - Went Saturday 9th July pre booked as been before and they get booked up. Was informed on booking they had a function in the main restaurant but we could eat in the bistro section. This was not a problem as been in that part before, very cosy also they where doing the full menu still. Staff very friendly and efficient nothing too much trouble, they did not hurry you from the ordering stage to the bill paying part. The food came nicely presented and cooked well and the most important was hot, a couple of the party wanted slightly different things to what came with the food and they dealt with that easily. This was what we had always had on our previous visits. Even though the staff had a lot of people to deal with as the function was a large one, and they had people booked in, plus people turning up without booking they where all catered for and accomodated. The prices are very reasonable and you get good value for money.

muddyboots73 (3 Stars) - Nice old pub, plain beer garden in a fenced area and kids climbing frame close by. Good food, friendly service, traditional pub grub at a reasonable price. Can go bar style or have nicer laid out tables. Would go again.

wanderingmedic (4 Stars) - Good food, Good atmosphere, excellent service and all at a reasonable price, look no further if you want reliability. There are plenty of good places to eat what you need is consiatancy, here you have it.

Baff (5 Stars) - Recommended by The Anglian Region of the Harley Davidson Riders Club, which used the White Lodge for a camping weekend in April this year. From the moment we arrived, Terry & Carol couldn't do enough for us. We used all the facilities, drank their beer & spirits, ate their food (brekky was especially good), bopped to the band, camped in their field, even took Terry for his first ride to the BSE Easter Egg Run. We're booking another weekend on the basis of our satisfaction with the first. This'll probably be the start of a long relationship.

Cartel (5 Stars) - Me and my family have been to this pub loads of times since the new land lord and landlady have taken over (Terry & Carol), and can say that all the times we have been to the pub all the staff have been really polite and that every meal we have had has been well presented and always hot. We held a party for 40 people and again we could not fault the service and the politeness shown by all the staff involved on that day. The owners are always around to make sure every think is okay thoughout the whole of the time we were in the pub. So I would like to say to other people please give this pub a try, because the food is great the service better than some bigger places and most of all the staff are only to quick to put things right if there is a problem.

Mish Kanorman (5 Stars) - I visited The White Lodge for the first time this weekend and cannot recommend it highly enough! The food was quick and really enjoyable, with very little waiting in-between placing our order and it arriving. We were dining on a Sunday night so it was fairly quiet. The prices were typical for the area, with an 8oz Sirloin steak costing £12.95 being one of the more expensive. Tables are available in either the main bar area or the separate restaurant, which is classically decorated and perfect for families/functions. A great family pub perfect for casual occasions or a special event.
